Rolling chairs at the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition

I recently finished reading Lisa See’s new novel China Dolls.  I am a huge fan of her books and had pre-ordered this one and was finished reading it within a week of its release date.  One of the things I love about her books is that I always learn new tidbits about history.  In China Dolls, one of the characters works as a rolling chair boy at the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1939.  I had an idea of what a rolling chair was but had never actually seen one so I looked it up and was able to find this picture of President Hoover riding in one.   So there you go.  It is, indeed, a rolling chair.
