Can I set up reminders on a Google calendar?

For various reasons I need to switch from my reliable Outlook calendar to a google calendar.  This is a problem for me because Outlook’s reminders are what get me through my day and keep me on track because I can keep on snoozing them until I complete them. I haven’t come up with a solution for that yet, but I did find a handy dandy guide to keystroke shortcuts that I will use — already the calendar is becoming more user friendly!
